What is the first thing that comes in my mind when I think of Keifer? Very easy; The Lost Boys. His look was so hot! I wish some boys would've dressed like him in High-School. But no,my school looked like The Breakfast Club characters but add a lot of 80's mullet hair Heavy Metal fans, much more athlete looks (hockey players) and lot of girls with tons of hairspray (hockey players girlfriends). And when I think of The Lost Boys, I can't help but think that it's one of the most amazing movie soundtrack of the 80s...Cryyyyyy little sister, thou shalllll not falllllll. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEIFER!

Someone posted a Bush Tetras song on Soundtracking. It was instant love. I couldn't help to compare with Post Punk group Au Pairs which I adore since the early 80's. "Sense And Sensuality" is one of my favorite album ever. It's the very first time I can say that a group has a similar sounding to Au Pairs. The lead vocalist is also a woman; Cynthia Sley. I am now listening to Bush Tetras 1980-1983 compilation "Boom In The Night". So good. -MissEighties
I am a huge fan of The Go-Go's and of each 5 members, they simply are my favorite group of alltime. I love their music, they rock, they look great, they make me feel good. Reading that bass player Kathy Valentine is leaving (or kicked-out depending the way you read it) affected me of course. Let's not forget that the band kept their original line-up since 1980! That's quite an accomplishment! I was more astonished by all the comments fans are leaving on the group's Facebook page than the fact in itself. The big question fans are choosing right now is weather or not they should continue to follow The Go-Go's. WHY NOT? I agree that The Go-Go's will never be the "same" but I will follow them and listen to them ultil the day I die. I feel bad for those who will act like babies by sulking them. Enjoy that they are more active than many 80's band that dissapeared from the map. They still tour, they communicate with us fans each day. I feel lucky to be a Go-Go's fan and you should feel lucky too. I wish good luck to both Kathy and the 4 members left who will be touring with The B-52's this summer. I'm very curious who they will choose as their new bass player...their choice will be mine.

To tell you the truth, the only song I knew from her was 99 Luft(or Red)Balloons...until recently. I bought her whole "99 Luftballons" album on vinyl and discovered a great album filled with much more than a one hit wonder. More than this, her discography is so impressive! I have to listen to her new album "Du Bist Gut". Did you listen to it? Did you like it?
99 Red Ballons is still one of my favorite 80s videos along with A-ha "Take on me", Human League "(Keep Feeling) Fascination", Prince "When doves cry" and Michael Jackson "Thriller", I've seen it so many times in the 80's recorded on a Beta videotape! - MissEighties
Today is Ric Ocasek's Birthday and I ask myself what should I say for this special day. Well, here is a true story of a young girl who wanted to be a radio jockey.
In 1984, the year The Cars "Heartbeat City" was released I was 14 years old and knew a little about life but I knew damn well my love for music. My dad didn't have to give me chocolate or a dress to make me smile. When he came home with a vinyl in his hand, he knew his young girl would have a big smile on her face. So that year I listened both sides of The Cars album again and again. My dad took me to the radio station to see if I could have own radio show. I knew the man standing in front of me, a well respected radio jockey. I was quite nervous and he asked me to make a playlist and he would see if I could do the job. The only thing I remember is that my list had at least 5 songs of The Cars "Heartbeat City" album, I mean, it was good music!!! Of course, the man must have laughed or smile with empathy to my list....of course I didn't have the job! Thing is, in 1988 I got a call from the record store asking me if I would like to work there and that same night my music career started and never stopped. Today I work for a record label and each time I hear The Cars "Hearbeat City" it brings me good souvenirs. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIC! - MissEighties
Here's the story. I'm doing big clean-up in my CD collection and this morning I grabbed Claude Challe "Happiness" album to play in my car. The first song to appear on my car screen is Billy Idol "Adam in Chains". I told myself it might be a bug, Billy Idol on a Chillout album, yeah right! The first half of the song was a real Chillout music arrangement with this kinda Barry White voice telling to breathe, fix your eyes on a spot, begin to relax, free your mind...no singing...almost dangerous when driving! Then at the very middle of the song I hear Billy's voice, I woke up, look at my car screen and yes, it was still that Billy Idol's song "Adam in Chains" from 1993 Cyberpunk album. I really do prefer his good 80s ballads like "Eyes Without A Face" but it made me smile. I added two versions of the song below; the original I heard with a longer spoken introduction and the video with a shorter spoken intro. - MissEighties
